First Methodist Church of Texarkana, Texas

About this church

First Methodist Church of Texarkana gathers Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and describes itself as “a new church start with 150 years of history.” Its heartbeat is to love Jesus, grow together, and bring hope to the community; its mission translates that into helping people live like Jesus at home, work, school, and across everyday life. The congregation includes all ages and backgrounds and offers online worship for people traveling or exploring from home. Sermons are presented as practical, Bible-based teaching shaped by historic Christian faith and Methodist emphasis on God’s grace.

Midweek programs make the family pathway concrete. Kids Camp meets Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. for ages three through eleven, beginning with dinner and high-energy praise before rotating through Bible stories, art, recreation, and STEM activities. Students meet Wednesdays from 5:00 to 7:00 for dinner and open gym, worship and teaching, then grade-based small groups for junior and senior high. Monthly mission projects connect youth with the church’s call to turn faith into action. A weekly college and young-adult Bible study, monthly social gatherings, dinner groups, and community missions provide similar connection points for adults beyond the main Sunday gathering.
