Calvary Baptist Church

About this church

Calvary Baptist Church is a Waco congregation seeking to engage God, one another, its Eighteenth-and-Bosque neighborhood, and the wider world through thought, compassion, and practical service. Sunday School creates age-based spaces around Scripture, while the main service welcomes children as participants in prayer, readings, choir, a children’s message, and a Communion blessing. Adults, students, and children all have dedicated weekly learning opportunities.

Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. for adults, children from infancy through sixth grade, and students in grades seven through twelve. Worship begins at 10:45 in the sanctuary and by livestream. Extended teaching care for infants through age four opens at 10:30 and continues through worship. Student Sunday-evening activities rotate among home dinners, mission projects, and faith study, usually from 6:00 until 7:30 or 8:00. During the school year, first- through sixth-grade choir meets Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.; one music page instead lists children’s choirs from 5:45 to 6:45, so families should confirm the semester’s arrival time. Adult choir rehearses Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00. The Baptist identity page explains the congregation’s denominational commitments, while recent livestreams help visitors preview worship.
