The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Highland 13th Ward, Highland

About this church

The Highland 13th Ward meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sits at 5335 W 11200 St N in Highland, Utah, one of thirteen buildings the directory lists in the city. The closest other meetinghouse is about 0.7 miles away, and this building offers a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, restroom, and seating.

Three congregations rotate through: the Highland 13th Ward at 9 a.m., the Highland 17th Ward at 10:30 a.m., and the Highland 31st Ward at 12 p.m. Membership is assigned by neighborhood, which is why several congregations share this same building across the day. A sacrament meeting takes roughly sixty minutes, with hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks by members of the congregation, followed by a second hour of classes, Primary included for children. Nothing is charged for attending any of the three, and no collection plate makes the rounds. Members generally dress up somewhat for Sunday, though a first-time guest can arrive however they like. Because a schedule like this can shift from year to year at the local level, a short call ahead of a first visit is a sensible precaution.
