First Baptist Church

About this church

First Baptist Church Longview is a Baptist congregation seeking to grow passion for Jesus, compassion for people, and positive transformation in its city and beyond. Sunday worship uses a band, Scripture-focused preaching, and a casual atmosphere, while disciple groups provide smaller settings for learning and relationships. Local partnerships include FISH of Cowlitz County, Community House meal service, and space for police training; wider mission support includes the International and North American Mission Boards.

Disciple Groups meet Sunday from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m., followed by worship from 10:30 to 11:45 in person, on the church website, and on YouTube. A welcome desk, coffee bar, snacks, and marked children’s check-in help first-time households get oriented. Birth through fifth-grade classes use trained, background-checked volunteers and secure pickup tags. The children’s page says Kids Church begins after the song service, but gives an approximate 10:15 start that precedes the published 10:30 worship hour; parents should therefore check in before the main service and follow the day’s directions. The grades six-through-twelve student ministry is currently paused while the church seeks new leadership, so families should not rely on an older youth schedule. Television broadcasts are also listed on local channel 11 at 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Sunday and 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
