St Stephens Episcopal Church

About this church

St Stephens Episcopal Church celebrates Choral Eucharist at 1428 22nd Avenue in Longview every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., in person and online. The service normally lasts about an hour and follows Rite II of the Book of Common Prayer: Scripture, sermon, prayers, confession, peace, Communion, and music led by organ, piano, choir, or guest musicians. Everyone is invited to the Communion table without pressure to receive. Coffee hour usually follows, and a second-Sunday Eucharist meets at Canterbury Park Retirement Community at 2:30 p.m.

Visitors will find no dress code and may use a marked space in the alley behind the church, reached from Louisiana Street. Greeters provide a detailed bulletin, while nursery care, children's programming, family pews, and prayer-play spaces help families participate. Gluten-free wafers are available, and an usher can bring Communion to someone who cannot reach the rail. St Stephens describes its welcome as spiritually open but rooted in Scripture, Christian tradition, and common prayer. Service beyond the building includes schools, shelters, environmental causes, FISH, Radical Love, Green Faith, and the Lower Columbia Interfaith Community. That combination of clear liturgy, practical accessibility, and community involvement gives first-time guests a useful picture before Sunday.
