Westview Church

About this church

At Westview Church, Sunday School and Bible study start at 9:30 a.m.; onsite and online worship follows at 10:45 at 2335 46th Avenue in Longview. Preschool through fifth-grade children meet in the Good News Clubhouse during the worship hour. Kids Club adds games, snacks, Bible teaching, and life lessons from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Westview describes itself as Christ-centered and disciple-making, with a vision of living, believing, and growing together.

Westview began in 1936 as First Church of God, when four people met in a home. Its first pastor, Belle Watson, had served as a missionary in China for twenty years. The group later rented a YMCA room, built in Kelso with donated labor and materials, and moved to its current property in 1977. It adopted the Westview name in 2020 and remains affiliated with Church of God Ministries in Anderson, Indiana, and the regional Association of the Churches of God. Young adults ages eighteen through thirty meet Fridays for a meal, Bible study, fellowship, and candid discussion of faith and life. A household can attend education at 9:30 and transition to worship and children’s programming at 10:45. People joining remotely can use the Sunday broadcast, while young adults should check the event listing for that Friday’s meal and meeting details.
