The Encounter

About this church

The Encounter begins Sunday prayer at 9:00 a.m. in a room off the main sanctuary and worship at 10:15 on its Kenosha campus. Sunday prayer has no fixed agenda beyond preparing for the service and following the Holy Spirit's direction. Worship is expressive and charismatic, with an emphasis on God's presence, music, prayer, prophecy, healing, and practical discipleship. Families can sign children into nursery or children's church: nursery serves birth through age three, while ages four through twelve join the opening worship and then move with a teacher to the chapel. A parent or guardian must handle check-in and pickup.

Wednesday prayer begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room and typically concludes by 9:00, though the church does not set a firm ending. Prayer ranges across personal needs, Kenosha, Israel, and the nations through individual, corporate, Spirit-led, and Harp-and-Bowl forms. The Encounter's vision is to make disciples, reach people outside the faith, and pursue transformation in families, youth, neighborhoods, the city, and other nations. It also hosts biblical counseling and partner institutions including Tall Oaks Academy and Christ Bible College. For newcomers, the important distinction is that prayer is not a supporting activity here: it frames the Sunday service, anchors Wednesday evening, and shapes the congregation's charismatic identity.
