Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who took on human flesh to save sinners. He is fully God and fully man, the second person of the Trinity, who existed from all eternity with the Father and the Holy Spirit. The Gospel of John opens with this declaration: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). Jesus is not a created being or merely a great moral teacher; He is God incarnate, the Creator of all things who entered His own creation.

Throughout the Old Testament, hundreds of prophecies foretold the coming of the Messiah, and Jesus fulfilled every one of them. He was born of a virgin in Bethlehem (Isaiah 7:14; Micah 5:2), entered Jerusalem on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9), was betrayed for thirty pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12-13), and was crucified for the sins of the world (Psalm 22; Isaiah 53). The mathematical probability of one person fulfilling even a fraction of these prophecies is staggering, yet Jesus fulfilled them all.

Jesus demonstrated His divine authority through His teaching, His miracles, and His power over nature, disease, demons, and death. He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, raised the dead, and calmed the storm with a word. But His greatest work was His atoning death on the cross, where He bore the sins of humanity, and His bodily resurrection three days later, which confirmed His identity as the Son of God (Romans 1:4).

Today, Jesus sits at the right hand of God the Father, interceding for His people and reigning over all creation. He will return one day in glory to judge the living and the dead and to establish His eternal kingdom. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11).
