Who Jesus Is
John 1Before anything else existed, the Word was with God. Through Him all things were made, and in time He "was made flesh, and dwelt among us" (v. 14). Begin here: the One you are getting to know is no distant idea, but God come near, full of grace and truth. As you read, simply notice how light enters darkness — and is not overcome.
How God Loves You
Luke 15A lost sheep, a lost coin, a lost son — and in each story, joy when what was lost is found. Watch the father in verse 20 run to his returning child while he is "yet a great way off." This is how God receives anyone who turns toward Him. Wherever you are starting from today, you are the one He is glad to welcome home.
The Lord Is My Shepherd
Psalm 23Six short verses that have comforted people for thousands of years. The Lord leads, restores, and stays near even "through the valley of the shadow of death" (v. 4). Read it slowly, perhaps twice. Then let one line rest in your mind through the day. Following Jesus means walking with a Shepherd who knows the way and will not leave your side.
A New Beginning
John 3A respected teacher comes to Jesus by night, and Jesus speaks of being "born again" (v. 3) — a fresh start God Himself gives. At the center is the verse many learn first: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son" (v. 16). Faith is not first about trying harder; it is receiving the love and new life God freely offers.
Come Unto Me
Matthew 11Jesus turns to the tired and burdened and says, "Come unto me... and I will give you rest" (v. 28). He invites you to take His yoke, for He is "meek and lowly in heart" (v. 29). Following Him is not one more weight to carry; it is finding rest for your soul. Bring Him today exactly as you are — weariness, questions, and all.
Jesus Calls You
Luke 5By the lake, ordinary fishermen meet Jesus. After a miraculous catch, Peter feels his own unworthiness — yet Jesus says, "Fear not" (v. 10), and they leave all to follow. Notice that Jesus calls people not because they have it all together, but as they are. The same invitation reaches you: to follow, and to discover what He can do with a willing life.
The Good Shepherd
John 10Jesus calls Himself the good shepherd who "giveth his life for the sheep" (v. 11) and knows each one by name. His sheep hear His voice and follow, and of them He promises, "neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand" (v. 28). As these first steps close, hear His voice calling you personally. The journey ahead is simply this: learning to know Him, and walking where He leads.
