What Does 1 Chronicles 1:5 Mean?
The writer begins with Japheth's line, naming seven sons whose descendants settled the lands to the north and west. These names, Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, and the rest, became whole peoples and regions known to ancient Israel. The table of nations, first given in Genesis, is here gathered up into the chronicle of God's dealings.
