What Does 1 Chronicles 2:2 Mean?
These six names complete the roll of Jacob's sons begun in the previous verse. Together with the first six, they form the whole household out of which the twelve tribes grew. The chronicler lists them plainly, without comment, letting the names themselves carry the weight of a nation's beginning.
Among these are Joseph, sold by his brothers yet raised up to save them, and Benjamin, the youngest, born of Jacob's beloved Rachel.
