1 Thessalonians 5:28 Meaning and Explanation

The letter ends as it began, with grace. 'The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you,' Paul writes, leaving his readers in the care of the unmerited favor that flows from Christ. The closing 'Amen' seals the blessing, a final word of affirmation: so let it be.

It is fitting that a letter so full of love and hope should close by commending its readers to grace. Grace was the first gift Paul named in his greeting, and it is the last he leaves with them, framing everything in between.
