What Does 1 Timothy 1:19 Mean?
The weapons of this good fight are faith and a clear conscience. Timothy must hold both together, for they guard each other.
Paul warns by sad example: some have thrust away their conscience, and their faith has gone down like a ship on the rocks. When the conscience is silenced, faith soon founders. Keeping a tender conscience protects the soul from ruin.
In the Original Language
