What Does 2 Kings 24:13 Mean?
The conqueror strips Jerusalem of its glory. The treasures of the temple and the royal house are carried off, and the golden vessels Solomon had crafted for worship are cut to pieces, just as the LORD had said would happen. The splendor of the past is broken up and hauled away.
It is a grievous sight: the holy things made for God's house dismantled by foreign hands. Yet the phrase 'as the LORD had said' tells us this loss did not catch heaven by surprise.
