Context
Elisha responds to Naaman's request with a simple blessing.
What Does 2 Kings 5:19 Mean?
Elisha speaks only four words: 'Go in peace.' But the weight of those words is enormous. He does not lecture Naaman about the theology of idolatry or demand conditions. He does not say 'You will be cursed if you ever bow to Rimmon.' Instead, he releases him. Elisha has done his work—the healing, the teaching of God's power—and now he lets Naaman go back into his own world with God's peace. It is an act of profound trust.
When we have shared the gospel with someone, sometimes we must also let them go. We do not control their circumstances or their future faithfulness. We offer what we can and release them into God's hands. Elisha's 'Go in peace' is not naivety. It is faith that God's Spirit will continue the work begun in Naaman's heart.
Application
When you have shared your faith with someone and done all you can, release them with blessing. Trust that God's work in their heart will continue even when they leave your sight.
