On that day the Lord will come to be glorified in His holy people and marveled at by all who have believed, including the Thessalonians who received Paul's testimony.

What Does 2 Thessalonians 1:10 Mean?

Paul lifts the readers' eyes from judgment to the glory of Christ's appearing. When the Lord comes, He will be "glorified in his saints" and "admired," that is, wondered at, in all who believe. The astonishing thing is that Christ's glory will shine in His people; the redeemed themselves become the showcase of His grace, reflecting His likeness back to Him.

Paul slips in a tender aside: this includes the Thessalonians, "because our testimony among you was believed." The gospel they received by faith binds them to this glorious future. For a church worn down by opposition, the promise is breathtaking. The day that vindicates the Lord will also display His beauty in them. Their endurance now is not in vain; it is being woven into the splendor of "that day."
