What Does Acts 10:46 Mean?
The evidence is audible and unmistakable: tongues and praise, the very signs of Pentecost (Acts 2:4, 11). God grants the same witness so that no one present — and no one in Jerusalem afterward — can doubt what he has done.
The first fruit of the Spirit's coming is worship: mouths filled with the greatness of God. Whatever gifts the Spirit gives, they bend toward this end — God magnified, his goodness declared aloud. Peter, watching, must now answer what God has so plainly begun.
