What Does Acts 10:9 Mean?
Luke sets two scenes moving toward each other: on the road, the men from Caesarea drawing near the city; on the flat rooftop of a seaside house, Peter withdrawing to pray at the sixth hour, midday.
The timing belongs to God. While the question travels toward Peter, Peter is placed where answers are given — at prayer. He does not know that the next hour will alter the course of his life and of the church. Keep the appointment of prayer; more is being arranged around it than we ever see.
