What Does Acts 19:7 Mean?
Luke closes the scene with one of his careful counts (Acts 1:15; 2:41). The whole company comes to about twelve men, a handful in a city of hundreds of thousands, gathered quietly while Ephesus goes about its trade and its worship of Diana.
From this small beginning the word will sound out until all Asia hears it (v. 10). God delights to start small; twelve men filled with the Spirit are no small thing in His arithmetic. Despise not the day of small things (Zech 4:10).
