Acts 20:12 Meaning and Explanation

Luke closes the story with a gentle understatement: they were not a little comforted. The young man carried out dead is brought in alive, and a night that nearly ended in mourning ends in wonder instead.

Their comfort was not a mood but a fact: God had given their boy back. And the timing is kind — Paul is sailing toward chains (20:23), and the church he leaves behind will need this memory. Every work of the risen Christ strengthens his people for what comes next; none of his own fall beyond his reach.
