What Does Acts 20:15 Mean?
Three more days of coasting: opposite Chios, across to Samos, an evening at Trogyllium on the mainland point, then into Miletus, an ancient harbor city some thirty miles south of Ephesus.
The itinerary reads plainly, but it is counting down. Every harbor brings Paul nearer to Jerusalem and the sufferings foretold there, and he sails on anyway. Steadfastness usually looks like this — the unglamorous next day's travel in the direction obedience lies, trusting God with the harbor at the end (20:24).
