What Does Acts 22:17 Mean?
Paul continues his defense: even after Damascus he returned to Jerusalem and prayed in the temple, hardly the conduct of a man who despised the holy place (Acts 21:28). There, in the act of worship, heaven opened to him again (compare Acts 9:26-29).
The Lord meets Paul at prayer, in the house of God. Scripture often shows direction given to those already on their knees (Daniel 9:20-21; Acts 10:9-10); worship is where the listening happens.
