What Does Acts 9:23 Mean?
“Many days” quietly covers a longer season — Paul later writes of time in Arabia and a return to Damascus, about three years in all (Galatians 1:17–18). The pattern is somber: when the argument cannot be answered (v. 22), opposition reaches for violence, as it had with Stephen.
The Lord’s word in verse 16 begins to come true at once: he must suffer for the name. The hunter is now the hunted, tasting what he once dealt out.
