What Does Amos 9:11 Mean?
The book turns fully toward hope. "In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof." The royal house of David, pictured as a collapsed shelter, will be lifted up again; its broken walls mended, its ruins raised, restored to the glory of "the days of old." What had fallen will not stay fallen. God Himself undertakes the rebuilding.
