Three towns to the west of Jerusalem — Kirjath-arim, Chephirah, and Beeroth — are tallied together at seven hundred forty-three. These were once towns of the Gibeonites brought into Israel's covenant.
That these places are repopulated shows the breadth of the restoration, reaching even the borderlands and the towns of old alliances. God gathers a whole land, not merely its center, drawing every region back under His care.
