What Does Hebrews 10:20 Mean?
The writer describes the way by which we now enter. It is new and living, freshly opened and full of life, leading through the veil that once barred the inmost sanctuary. He names that veil: it is the flesh of Christ.
Just as the temple veil hid God's presence, so the curtain is here likened to Christ's own body, given over in death. Through His offered flesh the way is opened, and through His risen life it remains a living way, not a dead ritual but a living Person. To come to God now is to come through Christ Himself. He is at once the veil drawn back and the road that leads us home.
