What Does Hosea 2:9 Mean?
Because the gifts were not recognized as His, God will withdraw them. Notice the repeated 'my' -- 'my corn,' 'my wine,' 'my wool' -- underscoring true ownership. The harvest and the clothing that covered her nakedness were His to give and His to recover.
This removal is itself a mercy. By taking back what was abused, God strips away the illusion that Baal supplied it, exposing the emptiness of the idols. Sometimes He must empty our hands of misused blessings so we will look up and find the only Hand that ever filled them. The loss is meant to teach the heart where its true provision lies.
