What Does Hosea 7:2 Mean?
This continues the indictment of verse 1. The people act as if their wrongdoing has been forgotten, but God declares that nothing escapes His memory. Their deeds have closed in around them like a besieging army and lie exposed before His face.
Sin loves the shadows and assumes God does not see. Yet everything is open before Him. This is sobering, but it is also the ground of grace: the God who remembers all our wickedness is the very One who can blot it out. Nothing brought honestly before His face is beyond His mercy.
