Context
God's judgment on those who oppose Israel and oppose His purposes in history.
What Does Isaiah 41:11 Mean?
Notice the verbs: incensed, ashamed, confounded, made nothing, perish. God does not say Israel's enemies will be defeated in battle (though some were). He says they will be ashamed—their cause will be revealed as empty. They strove against what God was doing, and in doing so, they strove against reality itself. In the end, resistance to God's purposes yields only confusion and dissolution.
This is not a promise of easy vindication in our lifetime. But it is a promise that the arc of history bends toward God's truth. Those who build on lies, who oppose what God is doing, will find their work coming to nothing.
In the Original Language
kaham (incensed, wrathful)—to rage or burn with anger, suggesting not cool opposition but the heat of desperate resistance to God's plan.
Application
We may face opposition for following God's ways. It may seem powerful and persuasive. But God assures us: their anger will curdle into shame when they see what God has done. Trust that righteousness has the last word, even when wickedness currently shouts louder.
