In a sudden burst of hope, Job lifts his eyes above his accusers and declares that he has a witness in heaven, One on high who knows his cause and will testify for him. Though earth condemns, heaven keeps his record.
This is one of the mountain peaks of the book. Out of the depths Job reaches for a heavenly advocate who will vouch for him before God. The longing finds its answer in Christ, who stands in heaven as the faithful Witness and Advocate, pleading the cause of all who trust in Him.
