What Does Job 17:15 Mean?
Out of the depths Job asks the aching question: where is his hope now, and who will ever see it come to pass? Having pictured the grave as his home, he wonders aloud whether any hope remains.
Even this question is spoken to God, and that is significant. To ask 'where is my hope?' in God's hearing is itself a thread of faith refusing to snap. Job's cry has been answered in the One who is our hope, in whom the dead shall rise and the longing of every faithful heart shall finally be seen.
