Bildad continues the picture of a home undone. Terror or desolation now 'dwell' in the tent that is no longer the man's own, and 'brimstone' burning sulphur 'is scattered upon his habitation.' The image recalls the destruction of cities under judgment, a dwelling place made uninhabitable and accursed.
Brimstone in Scripture marks a place of decisive judgment, sterile and abandoned. Bildad means the wicked man's home becomes such a ruin.
