What Does Job 19:18 Mean?
The contempt now comes from the least likely source. Young children, who would normally honor an elder, despise Job; when he rises to his feet they speak against him with derision. The man once seated in honor among the aged is now mocked by the youngest, a sign of how completely his standing has crumbled.
