Job continues to trace the lot of the poor. They reap grain in fields that belong to others and gather the grape harvest of the wicked, laboring in the vineyards of the very men who plundered them. Their toil enriches their oppressors while they themselves go without.
This is a bitter irony Job sets squarely before God: the work of the hungry feeds the full, and the harvest of the unjust is gathered by the hands they have wronged.
