What Does Job 25:2 Mean?
Bildad begins where any honest reflection on God must begin: with God's overwhelming greatness. 'Dominion' speaks of unrivaled authority, and 'fear' of the reverence such authority rightly commands. In 'his high places,' the realms of heaven, God keeps perfect order and harmony.
The God who 'maketh peace' in the heights is the same God who can bring peace below. What Bildad states as distant majesty, the gospel brings near: the Lord of the heavenly heights stooped to make peace with us, reconciling heaven and earth. The awe Bildad feels is real, yet it is not the whole story, for this exalted God also draws near to the lowly.
