What Does Job 36:31 Mean?
Elihu explains that by these same forces of weather God accomplishes two works: He judges peoples and He feeds them abundantly. The rain that nourishes can also, withheld or sent in flood, become an instrument of judgment.
Here justice and provision flow from one hand. The God of the harvest is also the God who governs nations through what He sends or withholds. This union of judgment and bounty points to the Lord who gives daily bread and who will at last set all things right.
