What Does Job 37:13 Mean?
Elihu names the purposes behind the rain and storm God sends. He causes the weather to come for correction, as a rod of discipline; or for His land, to water and sustain it; or for mercy, as a gift of kindness. The same falling rain may carry chastening, provision, or grace, according to His intent.
This verse opens a window onto the heart of God's dealings. What reaches us from His hand always serves a purpose, whether to correct us, to provide for us, or to show us mercy.
