What Does Job 6:23 Mean?
Continuing his defense, Job lists more things he never requested: deliverance from a foe, or a ransom paid to free him from some mighty oppressor. He laid no such heavy demand on his friends.
All he sought was kindness, yet even that was withheld. The words deliver and redeem carry a deeper resonance in Scripture, for they describe what God Himself does for His people. The rescue no friend could give, the Lord provides, redeeming the helpless from every power too strong for them.
