What Does Job 6:9 Mean?
Now the longing of the previous verse is named plainly. In his anguish Job asks that God would let His hand fall and cut the thread of his life, as a weaver cuts cloth from the loom. He would rather die than endure on.
These are the words of a man at the end of his strength, and Scripture records them without flinching. Yet notice what Job will not do: he will not take his own life, nor curse God. He leaves even his death in God's hands. The Lord is patient with such despair, and holds securely those who feel they can hold on no longer.
