What Does John 4:25 Mean?
Drawing on the promise of a prophet like Moses — I will put my words in his mouth (Deuteronomy 18:18) — Samaritans looked for one who would declare all things from God. John translates for his readers: Messias, the Anointed, is in Greek the Christ.
