What Does John 8:17 Mean?
Jesus now meets the Pharisees on their chosen ground. The law fixed the rule that every matter be confirmed at the mouth of two or three witnesses (Deuteronomy 17:6; 19:15) — the very principle behind their objection in verse 13.
