What Does Joshua 15:45 Mean?
The account names Ekron with her surrounding towns and villages. Ekron was one of the five chief cities of the Philistines, lying on the coastal plain at the edge of Judah's assigned territory.
Though Ekron was counted within the inheritance, the Philistines long held it in fact. The land was granted in full by promise, yet not all of it was yet possessed. So God's people often hold a title secured by His word while still called to enter into it by faith.
