What Does Joshua 15:55 Mean?
Another set of highland towns is named: Maon, Carmel, Ziph, and Juttah. These places lay in the wilderness pastures south of Hebron, where David would later hide from Saul and where Nabal of Carmel kept his flocks.
This rugged country would become the scene of David's wanderings and of God's protection over him. The towns listed here would shelter the future king in his trials. The Lord provides places of refuge for His servants long before the day of their need arrives.
