What Does Joshua 16:4 Mean?
Joseph, sold into Egypt by his brothers, had received from Jacob a double portion through his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim, each counted as a tribe in Israel. Here that long-promised blessing comes to ground as both tribes take hold of their land.
