What Does Joshua 18:2 Mean?
Judah, Ephraim, and the half-tribe of Manasseh had already been given their portions, and the tribes east of the Jordan had theirs. But seven tribes still waited, their inheritance promised yet not possessed.
Here is a gift granted but not yet taken hold of. The land was already theirs by the word of God, and still it had to be received and entered. The believer often stands in the same place, holding promises that are sure and yet calling to be claimed and lived in rather than left at a distance.
