What Does Joshua 19:9 Mean?
The narrator explains why Simeon dwells inside Judah's borders. Judah's lot had proved larger than that tribe could fill, and so a share of it was given over to Simeon.
Here is a picture of abundance shared. The tribe with more makes room for the tribe with less, and both are settled. God's order among His people is not every clan for itself but plenty flowing to need, the greater making space for the smaller. It foreshadows the generosity that marks the household of faith.
