What Does Joshua 24:3 Mean?
The recital continues with God as the active one at every step: I took, I led, I multiplied, I gave. Abraham did not find God; God took him and guided him through the land that would belong to his descendants. The long-awaited son Isaac is named as a pure gift, not an achievement.
