What Does Judges 4:15 Mean?
The turning point is credited plainly to God: the LORD discomfited Sisera and all his host. The mighty army collapses in confusion before Barak's advance, and the dreaded chariots become useless. Sisera himself, the proud commander, leaps down from his chariot and flees on foot, stripped of every advantage that had made him fearsome.
The text is careful to say who won the battle. Barak's men strike with the sword, but it is the Lord who routs the enemy.
