1 Corinthians 16 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

A man named Paul wrote this long letter to help a church family stop arguing and love God and each other.

This is the very end of the letter — the part where he says goodbye.

Today's Story

Paul is finishing his letter. You know how, at the end of a letter, you write the most important things and then say goodbye? That is what Paul does here.

First, Paul tells the church family about God's people far away who do not have enough food. He says, “On the first day of every week, each of you should put aside some money.” A little bit, saved up by everybody, becomes a big gift that helps a lot of people. Even small hands can help!

Then Paul tells them his plans. “I am coming to see you soon,” he says. He cannot wait to be with his friends again.

Near the very end, Paul writes the biggest thing of all. He says, “Be on your guard. Stand firm. Be strong. Do everything in love.” Every single thing — sharing, helping, even cleaning up — can be done with love.

Last of all, Paul sends warm hellos. “Greet each other with love,” he says. “My love is with all of you.” And that is how the letter ends — full of love, like a great big hug.

  2. Paul saved up a little money to make a big gift for people far away. What is something small you could share to help someone?
  3. Paul ended his letter by sending love to his friends. Who is someone you would like to send love to today?
