David faces one of the hardest things of all: being turned against by his own son. Watch how he chooses to trust God anyway.
Today's Story
David's son Absalom grew proud. He wanted to be king instead of his father. So, little by little, he tried to win the people's hearts away from David, until one day he tried to take the throne for himself.
It was a heartbreaking day. To keep the city safe, David decided to leave Jerusalem rather than fight his own son. He walked out of his beloved city with tears running down his face.
But David was not alone. Loyal friends walked right beside him. One friend named Ittai said, “Wherever you go, I'm going too — no matter what.”
And here's the amazing part: even on that terrible day, David trusted God. He said, “If the LORD is pleased with me, He will bring me back. But if not… then let the LORD do what He thinks is good.”
David didn't know how the story would end. But he put it all in God's hands and kept walking, one step at a time.
